Verse 11Nonduality
Not the Aggregate of Words
Bhairava
This verse says the ultimate reality is not something you can reduce to words or a list of qualities. It is bigger than any description of a god with separate parts or powers. The point is to stop grasping at labels and look for what cannot be captured by them.
तत्त्वतो न निजात्मासौ शब्दराशिर्न भैरवः । न चासौ विविधो देवो न च शक्तिसमात्मकः ॥ ११ ॥
tattvato na nijātmāsau śabdarāśir na bhairavaḥ | na cāsau vividho devo na ca śaktisamātmakaḥ || 11 ||
Translation
In truth, that is not the self, nor is Bhairava merely a mass of words; nor is he a manifold deity, nor one composed of powers as separate elements.
Negate all limited conceptions of Bhairava so the practitioner does not mistake language, multiplicity, or attributes for the absolute.
