Shock-Induced Stillness
Bhairava
This verse points to a surprising method: move the body so intensely that the ordinary mind is shaken, then let the motion stop completely. In that gap, awareness can open into a deeper stillness. It is like spinning until your usual sense of balance breaks, then noticing the quiet after the spin ends.
विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् भ्रान्त्वा भ्रान्त्वा शरीरेण त्ववरतम् भुवि पातनात् । क्षोभशविविरामेण परा संजायते दशा ॥ १११ ॥
vijñānabhairava tantram bhrāntvā bhrāntvā śarīreṇa tv avarataṃ bhuvi pātanāt | kṣobhaśavivirāmeṇa parā saṃjāyate daśā || 111 ||
Translation
By whirling again and again with the body, or by falling to the ground without pause, when the agitation comes to rest, the supreme state arises.
Use intense bodily motion and its sudden cessation to bring the mind into a supreme, still state.
