Verse 4Dialogue
Is He Sound, Sun, Moon, or Power?
Devi
Devi is listing sacred images and asking if Bhairava is any of them. She mentions sound, subtle drops of energy, the moon, a wheel, and divine power. She is really asking: “Which symbol points to your actual nature?”
नादविन्दुमयं िावप वकं चन्द्राधधवनरोवधका् । चक्रारूढमनच्कं वा वकं वा शविस्वरूपकम् ॥ ४ ॥
nāda-bindumayaṃ vāpi kiṃ candrādhi-nirodhikāḥ | cakrārūḍham anacchaṃ vā kiṃ vā śakti-svarūpakam || 4 ||
Translation
Or is he made of sound and bindu? Or of the moon and the moon’s restraint? Or mounted on a wheel, pure and without obstruction? Or is he of the nature of Śakti herself?
Devi continues to test whether Bhairava can be described through Tantric symbols like sound, bindu, lunar processes, and power.
