Dissolving Subtle Tattvas
Bhairava
This verse says to notice everything that makes up you and the world, down to the most subtle levels, and imagine it all dissolving. As the pieces fade, what remains is not emptiness in a dead sense but a higher reality. It is like letting a picture dissolve so the screen becomes visible.
स्वदेहे जगतो वापि सूक्ष्मसूक्ष्मतराणि च । तत्त्वानि यानि विलयं ध्यात्वान्ते व्यज्यते परा ॥ ५४ ॥
svadehe jagato vāpi sūkṣma-sūkṣmatarāṇi ca | tattvāni yāni vilayaṃ dhyātvānte vyajyate parā || 54 ||
Translation
In one’s own body, or also in the world, whatever subtle and subtler principles there are—by meditating on their dissolution, in the end the supreme is revealed. || 54 ||
Contemplate all subtle constituents of body and world as dissolving, so the supreme reality can emerge.
