Verse 58Space
The World as Empty Space
Bhairava
This verse asks you to look at the whole world as if it were empty space. When you do that, the mind has nothing solid to hold onto and settles down. In that stillness, you become more open to a deep merging beyond ordinary thought.
विश्वमेतन्महादेवि शून्यभूतं विवचन्तयेत् । तिैि च मनो लीनं ततस्तल्लयभाजनम् ॥ ५८ ॥
viśvam etan mahādevi śūnyabhūtaṃ vicintayet | tatraiva ca mano līnaṃ tatas tallayabhājanam || 58 ||
Translation
O Great Goddess, one should contemplate this universe as become empty. There, the mind becomes absorbed, and then one becomes a vessel of that dissolution. || 58 ||
See the entire universe as empty so the mind merges into that emptiness and becomes fit for dissolution.
