Verse 77Visualization

Gaze with Fierce Goddess

Bhairava

This verse uses a strong, vivid image of the fierce Goddess and a special way of gazing. The point is to let your attention become sharp, alive, and uplifted rather than dull. In that heightened state, a deeper fulfillment can appear.

विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् करवङ्कण्या क्रोधनया भैरव्या लेलिहानया । खेचयाध दृवष्टकाले च परािावप्त् प्रकाशते ॥ ७७ ॥

karṅkanyā krodhanayā bhairavyā lelīhanayā | khecaryā dṛṣṭi-kāle ca parāvāptiḥ prakāśate || 77 ||

Translation

By the fierce, wrathful Bhairavī who licks forth, and by khecarī, during the time of gaze, supreme attainment shines forth.

Maintain a subtle upward or inner gaze while invoking intense, fierce awareness to awaken supreme realization.
