Stillness through Gentle Movement
Bhairava
This verse says that even gentle movement can be a doorway to meditation. If you sit or move slowly and keep the mind soft and शांत/peaceful, a subtler inner experience may arise. The body is used like a rocking boat that helps the mind settle into calm water.
चलासने वस्थतस्याथ शनैिाध देहचालनात् । प्रशान्ते मानसे भावे देवि वदव्यौघम् आप्नुयात् ॥ ८३ ॥
calāsane sthitasyaatha śanair vā deha-cālanāt | śānte mānase bhāve devi divyaugham āpnuyāt || 83 ||
Translation
While seated in a moving posture, or by gently moving the body, when the mental state becomes peaceful, O Devi, one attains the stream of the divine.
Use mild bodily motion as a way to calm the mind until a deeper divine current appears.
