Moonlit Night Contemplation
Bhairava
The verse recommends meditating at night, especially when it is dark and quiet. Instead of resisting the darkness, you let it become the object of contemplation. Over time, the darkness stops feeling empty and becomes a way to sense a deeper presence.
एवमेि दुवनधशायां कृष्णपक्षागमे वचरम् । तैवमरं भावयन् रूपं भैरवं रूपमेष्यवत ॥ ८७ ॥
evam eva duṃdihśāyāṃ kṛṣṇapakṣāgame ciram | taimiraṃ bhāvayan rūpaṃ bhairavaṃ rūpam eṣyati || 87 ||
Translation
In the same way, during a dark night at the arrival of the dark fortnight, for a long time contemplating the dark form, one attains the form of Bhairava.
Use the darkness of night as a meditative image to enter Bhairava's formless, subtle presence.
