A-U-M Into Sudden Illumination
Bhairava
This verse uses seed-sounds and subtle sound-parts as a meditation object. By repeating them carefully, the mind can suddenly brighten, as if a lamp were switched on inside. The practice is less about pronunciation than about letting sound awaken awareness.
अविन्दुम् अविसगधम् च अकारम् जपतो महान् । उदेवत देवि सहसा ज्ञानौघ् परमेश्वर् ॥ ९० ॥
a-binduṃ a-visargaṃ ca akāraṃ japato mahān | udeti devi sahasā jñānaughaḥ parameśvaraḥ || 90 ||
Translation
For one who recites the great A, the bindu, the visarga, and the letter A, O Devi, suddenly arises a flood of knowledge, the supreme Lord.
Repeat sacred sound-elements until they spontaneously open into a surge of awakened knowledge.
