Verse 94Nonduality

Freedom from Thought-Construction

Bhairava

Thoughts come and go, but this verse points to what is present before a thought begins and after it ends. If you stop chasing the story in your head, you can notice a quieter awareness underneath it. Paradoxically, letting go of thought can reveal a deeper clarity beyond thought.

विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् वचत्ताद्यन्त्कृवतनाधवस्त ममान्तभाधियेवदवत । विकल्पानामभावेन विकल्पैरुवितो भवेत् ॥ ९४ ॥

vijñānabhairava tant्रम् cittādi-anta-kṛta-nātha-vastu mama anta-bhāvayedit | vikalpānām abhāvena vikalpair udito bhavet || 94 ||

Translation

One should contemplate that the Lord and the reality of my own being are made at both the beginning and end of thought; by the absence of conceptual constructions (vikalpas), one becomes risen through concepts.

See that the self and the divine stand before and after thought, then let concepts fall away into non-conceptual awareness.
